SENSOLOGY
Sensology is the study of senses, how we sense ourselves and others, the natural and supernatural world, beauty and time, beginning and end.
The 7 Senses:
-
Sight
-
Smell
-
Taste
-
Hearing
-
Touch
-
Vestibular
-
Proprioception
Sensology is a fascinating subject, mostly because
the brain is a fascinating subject. And as all our senses are governed
by the nervous system and processed by the brain it is only logical
to learn everything that has been discovered and is available about it.
The signals from the eyes, inner ear, ears, tongue, nose, skin,
muscles and joints are carried through the network of neurons to the different parts of the brain so
we can see, taste, hear, smell, feel, balance, move and position our body.
This complex, fragile, unique, sophisticated, mostly-taken-for-granted sensory system creates the rich, colourful fabric of reality of our inner and outer world.
In this course we will be looking at each sense individually and at different ways to improve, expand and deepen our sensory system. And also at neuroplasticity and how we can use this amazing ability of our brain to improve the quality not only of our sensual but our life experiences as well.
